After that, we got some gelato and McDonald's french fries, and headed down the main boulevard. At the end of this looooong street was the capital building of Rome. It was so big, and had so many stairs and so many statues, that you really couldn't take it all in. Unfortunately my camera was out of battery by that time, so I only got one picture. Maybe we will get back there and I will take some more.....
By that time we were completely across the city from our hotel----too far to walk. So, we figured out how to catch a city bus that took us back to our side of town. Because Papa (David's dad) is extremely hard of hearing, I had to figure out what bus to get on, where to catch it, and where/how to get tickets----and NO one spoke English. And then we had to get all 9 of us on the bus. That was an adventure!
We had a great day!
